Infinite Atlas is an interactive data visualization website that maps every location in “Infinite Jest” by David Foster Wallace. This project—called an “infinitely absorbing marriage of literature and rich location-based data” by Fast Company’s FastCo Create—was a collaborative project conceived by our friends at Beutler, Ink, who did an amazing amount of research and design. Gizmodo called it an “amazing resource,” and Yahoo/Atlantic Wire said it was “definitely one of the neatest things to hit the literary web in a while.”

Our team designed the fun, interactive site and created the data structure for 600+ points of interest sortable by storyline, character, and more. The site allows users to add photos of locations and explore this beloved book in a new way online.
